Sometimes, being exaggeratingly dependent on your own boss or some partner and even on your personal talent can cause you to be lazier. You will feel some form of misplaced security that everything will be all right because you have your boss backing you up. But in the end, somebody gets the VP position that you so surely thought you’d get. It is important that you know that the only person who can make you stand out and can get you promoted is YOU! SO what you need to do is to take a second look at you or let somebody do it for you. Self evaluation has been prone to be a poor indicator of performance. It is best that you ask somebody you know and who knows you very well and is capable of telling you the truth to take a look at you and give you honest feedbacks. What you don’t know about YOURSELF could really hurt you.
